Pure Meat Base: "All from Horse" by Barfgold
"All from Horse" is a pure animal mixture that serves as a base for BARF feeding. Unlike the complete menu, this product contains no vegetables or fruits. It is a combination of the most important horse components, pre-mixed in a biologically appropriate ratio for the animal portion of a meal.

The mixture consists of horse muscle meat, horse offal (liver, kidney, spleen, lung), horse heart, and finely ground horse bone meal. This covers the entire animal requirement for protein, essential vitamins from the offal, and natural calcium, without having to portion different bags individually.

We recommend this mixture from Barfgold as an ideal base for allergy sufferers and sensitive dogs if you prefer to add the plant components (vegetables/fruits) fresh yourself. It offers full control over the carbohydrate content, while the supply of animal nutrients and minerals is already ensured by the bone meal.

As it is a pure meat-offal-bone mixture, the plant portion (approx. 20%) and a suitable oil must still be added for a complete meal.

Ingredients

55% muscle meat, 20% horse fat, 10% bone pulp, 15% offal (20% liver, 20% kidney, 20% heart, 20% spleen, 20% lung)

Analytical constituents

Crude protein 16.9%
Crude fat 16.6%
Crude ash 2.4%
Crude fibre 0.2%
Moisture 63.9%

The basis of a species-appropriate BARF diet is based on the structure of a prey animal and is divided into an animal portion of 80–90% and a plant-based portion of 10–20%. The daily total food amount for an adult dog is usually between 2% and 3% of body weight.

Within the animal components, half (50%) is lean meat, which serves as the main energy supplier. This is supplemented by 20% rumen or omasum, which provide important enzymes. The remaining 30% is equally divided into offal (as a source of vitamins and nutrients) and raw meaty bones (for calcium supply).

The plant-based portion, in turn, consists of 75% vegetables and 25% fruit. Since dogs cannot break down plant cell walls themselves, these components should always be pureed or lightly steamed for optimal utilization.

At the top of the pyramid are essential additives that round off the nutrient profile. The regular administration of high-quality oils (especially omega-3 oils such as salmon oil) and seaweed meal for iodine supply is indispensable. Depending on the needs, further supplements such as cod liver oil, eggs, or a pinch of salt can complete the feeding plan.
